Percy & Reed colour & shine conditioner.

I've had this conditioner in my bathroom cab for around 6 months. It's Percy & Reed really rather radiant colour and shine conditioner. It retails at £16 for a 250ml bottle. Rather pricey I think, esp if you're after its sister shampoo too, £14 also for 250ml. That's £30 gold nuggets swiped outta your pocket, the bottles aren't the biggest, and if you're a convicted product over user like myself it's not going to last you long at all.

The packaging is pleasing, simple but chic. The ingredients include raspberry oil, white grape seed oil & aloe vera, while you'd expect the scent to be somewhat fruity, you'd be wrong, the only thing my sensitive sniffer could whiff was the aloe vera, which isn't to my snouts preference. The website www.beautybay.com (which has a large range of Percy & Reed products) claims this cond is "nourishing" and is designed for coloured hair. My hair has been bleached and coloured over & over to the point where I'm thankful to still have hair upon my abused head. This conditioner just doesn't cut if for me, its thin and watery, I always wring out my hair so conditioners aren't watered down, but I just couldn't feel this in my locks. As I said above, I always use far more product than needed and I still went in for seconds with this in hope it would thicken up, with no such happening I left it on for a good 5 mins. It rinsed off very easily, good for if you're in a rush but to me it just validated the feeling that it wasn't even there to begin with. I like a good war with my conditioner, imagining it clinging to my weakened mane desperate to exceed my already satisfied standards.

I didn't give my head hairs the extra leave in conditioners and serum it craved and proceeded to blow dry bare to see exactly what this cond had to offer, its last chance to survive in the highly competitive world that is my bathroom cupboard. My hair instantly wilted in the heat of my blow dryer showing the tell tale chewing gum like signs of bleached hair, frizzing and pulling at the ends. From the window behind i imagine my neighbours and nosey by passers on the phone to animal control with reports of an escaped circus lion standing on two feet. I am a mess.

I boldly take my straighteners in hand, and make matters worse. I think I may have lost an inch or two during this review.

I take to the bathroom where my two mirrors show no mercy and I'm surprised at how shiny my tortured wig is. Still without serum or shine sprays it glistens.

I'd like to see this product in action on someone's hair that has more life and isn't so chemically treated, while this product is targeted at coloured hair I dont think its for dead hair, like mine. I'd use this again, just because I have it, and I'd use it after a deeper, thicker conditioner that my hair has already approved of and i'd follow it up with my leave-in conditioner and serums. I wouldn't buy this again as my hair is not getting in any better condition...I type this sat on my bed sporting a morrisons plastic bag on my noggin waiting for my full head colour to develop.

To wrap up, give this a shot if you're hair isnt severely damaged as it does give brilliant glossy shine! However, unfortunately not enough nourishment, not a nice consistency and a disappointing scent.

Let me know what you think of this product if you have used it. :)

Base line.

I look at other people's perfect skin and a jealous rage sweeps over me. The older I get, the more immature my skin gets. Whilst my naturally full, round and "baby-like" (in other words chubby!) face keeps me from spending hours in the mirror gawping and agonising over emerging lines and wrinkles, I have recently been plagued with fifteen year old skin again. I have blackheads, whiteheads, spots under my skin and more occasionally than seems possible those lovely ones that take up whole portions of your face and seriously outstay their welcome, fighting 'till the death with any "spot zapping" potion that crosses the battlefield that is my chin.

Thus, my search for make-up that conceals all sins begins and I pray for the day my skin starts to behave like the 22 year and 364 day old that I am (yes, it is my birthday tomorrow) ;)

Let's begin. I decided to try the Rimmel Wake me up foundation. Its lovely! My skin is also combination skin at its finest, but in all the wrong places! The T zone, where you would normally expect oily skin, I have dry. My greasy patches are on and around the apples of my cheeks. What's it all about? Anyway, this foundation with its slightly shimmery sheen awakens my skin from the grave and doesn't further dry my parched patches. Whatever skin day I am having, I can be assured this will make my skin look anything from half decent to great! A winner. I'd say this isn't for you if you have all over greasy skin or don't like shimmery foundations, however subtle.

I brought yet another Maybelline dream matte mouse. Its a love hate one with these. They are great for days when my skin isn't as dry, i'll dab a thin layer over areas where I want more coverage, and If needed i dab it on any spots before my heavy duty concealer comes out to play! That heavy duty concealer is Collection 2000 lasting perfection ultimate wear concealer, I use it lightly on my under eye bags, a permanent feature upon my face as my son very rudely won't let me acquire more than 5 hours sleep per night. This miracle in a tube is dabbed onto facial monsters hide them from society. Although the wand applicator tip can be pretty loaded, so dab lightly.

My newest highlighter is Maybelline dream lumi touch. It states its a concealer, I haven't used it as that, and wouldn't. Why would I want to highlight any fugly spots!? This is smoothed onto my under eye baggage, round my snout holes, the inner corners of my eyes, and my cupids bow. It's not as good as Touche eclat, let's face it, nothing is! But its pretty darn good. I probably will try multiple highlighters in a search for a slightly cheaper one as good as touche eclat, to the point where I probably could have brought 3 touche eclats! I will sure in the future purchase this Maybelline one again.

Lastly, I wanted to try a make up fixer, I haven't tried one up 'til now 'cos I didn't think I'd like it at all. The thought of spraying something wet on your face after you have spent a fair few minutes dabbing, smoothing and perfecting seemed absurd. I came across this one from Collection 2000 carrying the reasonable price tag that all their products proudly display, and can I add how much collection 2000 has come along in the past couple of years! I'm loving a few of their products atm. This make up fixing spray dries almost instantly and I can honestly say I noticed how much longer my make up looked freshly applied. I have been won over and im looking forward to trying more of these.

This months make-up madness!!

This month I have gone rather crazy for all things make-up. 98% of it is new to me and I'm loving it all! Im doing separate little blogs for base, eyes and lip products. Otherwise we'd still be here 6 pages later testing your eyeballs and focus skills, or lack of if you're anything like me. I also cannot seem to upload more than one picture at a time on this blogger app! If anyone knows how, or another app that puts this one to shame please let me know!
